Mapua Easter Fair

Canceled – Mapua Domain  – 2020, Easter Sunday, 12 April,  9am to 3pm.

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern announced that Cabinet has agreed all gatherings of 500 or more people in New Zealand – held outdoors or indoors – will not go ahead. For a detailed article regarding the announcement you can click on this link:

While it is with great sadness that we have to cancel our Fair we remind ourselves that in the scale of what is happening worldwide, it is a small inconvenience.

An extra big shout out to our sponsors: NBS, Chocolate Dog Studio & More FM who are all still offering to help in various ways, even now the fair is cancelled – we are very lucky.

We look forward to being back in 2021.

From small beginning’s this has become Nelson Tasman region’s largest fair with over 10,000 visitors each year. The fair is the key annual fundraiser for Mapua Primary School and Mapua Playcentre and is run entirely by volunteers, overseen by the Mapua Easter Fair Charitable Trust.

Most years the fair has over 220 stallholders, made up of arts, crafts, garden, fairground and miscellaneous stalls, a school run café, second hand store and silent auction. In addition, the Playcentre opens its gates to provide a space for younger children to play and families to relax. We offer a full day of free entertainment on stage and other free activities. It’s a  great day out catering for all ages.

‘Waste No More’ help at the four recycling stations ‘helping people put
their waste in the right place so we can recycle as much as possible’. Everyone is
encouraged to BYO coffee cup to use at the coffee vendors, BYO water bottle to refill and
BYO bags to carry all those goodies home from the white elephant and other stalls!

It will be a busy day around the village.  A free bus shuttle will run from the Stafford Drive carpark. Check out options closer to the time.
